Tomie De Paola Papers 1965-1990

Tomie De Paola's papers focus on his work as an author and illustrator of children's books. The collection contains production material for over 150 books written and/or illustrated by De Paola and published between 1965-1990. The collection includes holographs and typescripts, galley and page proofs, layout notes, research material, illustrations done in a variety of media with many separations, studies and sketches in a variety of media, photographs, dummies, layouts, paste-ups, proofs, press copies, photocopies, and book jackets. The collection also contains a substantial amount of correspondence to and from Tomie De Paola, including some from children that includes art work and photographs, as well as correspondence to and from publishers and editors. The collection also contains miscellaneous material including art work done by De Paolo, clippings and other material about De Paola, and a videocassette done by KTCA-TV (Minnesota Public Telekvision) for the Nightimes Magazine Program.
